Booking & retainers
- A 50% retainer is required to book a session. Your session is not confirmed until the retainer is received.
- The retainer is credited toward your total session fee.
- The remaining balance is due no later than the start of the session, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Prices are those shown when you book. Add-ons requested later are billed at current prices.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
- Every booking includes the Photography Services Agreement and the Model & Photo Release, signed online when you book. If anything on this page differs from those documents, the signed documents apply to your session.
Cancellations, rescheduling & refunds
- If you cancel, the retainer is forfeited (non-refundable).
- Rescheduling: let me know as soon as you can. One reschedule may be allowed with at least 48 hours' notice, subject to availability. A no-show, or changes with less than 48 hours' notice, may require a new retainer.
- Billing questions: please contact me first if there's a problem with a charge, before disputing it with your bank.
- Weather: if weather makes an outdoor shoot unsafe or would seriously affect the photos, we'll decide together whether to move it. You never lose your retainer because of weather: I'll reschedule at no extra cost, or refund everything you've paid if a new date doesn't work.
- If I must cancel or can't perform the session, I'll make reasonable efforts to reschedule or refund amounts paid for services not provided.
- Late arrivals may reduce your shooting time and don't automatically extend the session. Extra time is $50 per 30 minutes, if available.
- Final photos are delivered once all amounts due are paid.
Photo store & digital downloads
- Gallery previews are watermarked and low resolution. Purchased photos are delivered as full-resolution files without the watermark.
- Because digital files can't be returned, all photo purchases are final once the download link is delivered.
- If a file is damaged, missing, or not the photo you chose, contact me within 14 days and I'll replace it or refund that photo.
- Download links work for a limited time (shown on your order page). Save your files somewhere safe. Lost your link? Use "Already bought photos?" on the Store page to get it emailed again; if a link has expired, contact me.
- Session photos are backed up for 90 days after delivery; after that, re-delivery can't be guaranteed.
- Discount codes can't be combined and have no cash value. Sale prices apply only during the sale.
Image licensing
JXN Photography keeps the copyright to all images. When you book a session or buy a photo, you receive a personal-use license:
- You may: post the photos on your personal social media, print them for yourself, and share them with family and friends. Tagging or crediting JXN Photography is appreciated.
- You may not: sell or resell the photos, use them in advertising, for a business, product, sponsorship or paid promotion, submit them to contests, or claim them as your own work.
- Please don't apply filters or heavy edits that change the look of the photos.
- Commercial use (businesses, shops, sponsors, publications) needs a separate paid license. Just ask.
Time for Trade (TFT) agreement
A TFT session is a trade: you give your time, and I give you edited photos. No money changes hands. By requesting a TFT session, you agree to the following:
- No fees. Neither of us pays the other. Each of us covers our own travel and costs unless we agree otherwise.
- Selection. TFT spots are limited. I choose which requests to accept based on my portfolio goals.
- What you receive. A selection of professionally edited images in an online gallery. I choose which images to edit and the editing style. Unedited (RAW) files aren't provided.
- Turnaround may be longer than paid sessions, because paid work comes first.
- Personal use only. You may use the photos under the personal-use license above: social media (please tag or credit JXN Photography), personal prints, and sharing. No commercial use of any kind without a separate paid license.
- My use. I may use the images in my portfolio, website, social media, contests and self-promotion.
- Release. You consent to your likeness, and any vehicle or property you bring, appearing in those uses. You can ask me to remove a specific image from my website and social media and I'll make reasonable efforts to do so.
- Planning. We'll agree on the concept, location, date and wardrobe or vehicle ahead of time.
- Cancelling. Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. I'll do the same. If you don't show up, or cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, the session is cancelled and you may not be offered future TFT sessions.
- Vehicles and property. You confirm you own, or have permission to use, any vehicle or property in the shoot, and you're responsible for driving and operating it safely and legally.
- Age. You must be 18 or older. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to request and approve the session.
Portfolio use & releases (paid sessions)
- For paid sessions, how I may use photos where you're identifiable (portfolio, social media, advertising, competitions) is your choice, made in the Model & Photo Release when you book. You can opt out completely without affecting your session or price, and I won't tag you by name unless you allow it.
- You can withdraw permission later in writing; it applies to future use as described in the release.
- License plates can be blurred or hidden on request.
- At events, guests may be photographed. If you don't want your photo shared, let me know and I'll remove it from public galleries.
Privacy
- What I collect: the details you give me (name, email, phone, Instagram handle if you share it, session details and notes), what you buy, and when you agreed to these terms. When you sign the booking agreement online, your IP address is recorded with your signature as proof of signing.
- Why: to schedule and deliver your session, send your photos and receipts, and answer your questions. I don't sell or rent your information, and I don't send marketing email unless you ask for it.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Service providers: the site is hosted by Cloudflare, confirmation emails may be sent through an email provider, and fonts load from Google Fonts. They only receive what they need to provide their service.
- Your browser stores your cart and gallery access on your device only. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and the site doesn't track you across other websites, so it doesn't respond differently to "Do Not Track" browser settings.
- How long I keep it: booking and order records are kept as long as needed for taxes and business records. You can ask me to delete or correct your information at any time.
